An Event that Bridges Learning and Action
The event, which aimed to spark awareness and inspire action, was a perfect blend of education and engagement. From the moment participants walked into the venue, it was clear that this wasn’t just a lecture – it was an experience. The vibrant atmosphere was filled with eager students, buzzing with excitement, and the palpable sense of purpose hung in the air.
The lecture series began with an opening address from PENRO Felizardo B. Cayatoc that was delivered by Forester Arjay T. Gregas , who set the tone for the day. "It is our responsibility to save what saves us, and protect what we must protect. If we want to make a change, let’s start the change that we want to see in our world with ourselves," PENRO Cayatoc said in his message.
A Day of Empowerment
The event featured four key lectures. The Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Urban Biodiversity, Water Resources, and Importance of Mangroves. What truly set this event apart from typical lectures was the interactive nature of the program. After each lecture, students had the opportunity to engage with the speakers in a lively Q&A session. Students were not only encouraged to ask questions but were also invited to share their ideas and experiences related to the topics discussed.
The students left with not only new knowledge but also a sense of responsibility to contribute to the preservation of the environment. The collaborative effort between DENR - PENRO and NCCC Mall proved to be a step forward in fostering a more environmentally conscious generation.
