A Legacy of Leadership and Dedication: Honoring TSD Chief Ronie B. Gandeza's Retirement

On January 3, 2024, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-PENRO), Palawan commemorated a significant milestone as colleagues, friends, and family came together to celebrate TSD Chief Ronie B. Gandeza's retirement party and his remarkable career. The ceremony, which took place at the PENRO Training Hall, was a heartfelt farewell and a tribute to Chief TSD whose vision and enthusiasm had a lasting impact on the department and beyond.

Forester Ronie B. Gandeza dedicated over 35 years of service to the DENR Palawan and rose through the ranks from Forester I up to Development Management Officer V where he served as the Chief of Technical Services Division. During his tenure, he showed his steadfast dedication to sustainable development and environmental preservation. His ability to inspire and lead by example has made him a respected figure not only within DENR but also among stakeholders across various sectors.

The retirement party was a heartfelt affair, attended by DENR Palawan officials headed by PENR Officer Felizardo B. Cayatoc, CENR Officers, PWRCC Family, colleagues, close friends in and out of the services, and his beloved family. The event featured heartfelt messages highlighting Chief Gandeza’s professional achievements, personal anecdotes that illustrated his compassionate leadership style, and messages of gratitude for his years of service.

Highlights of the evening included a video presentation prepared by the office and PWRCC’ IEC Unit showcasing Chief Gandeza’s milestones and significant contributions to DENR. A special video message from the Regional Executive Director Felix S. MIrasol, Jr. where he mentioned how For. Ronie has inspired countless individuals with his professionalism, integrity and kindness. 

As Chief Gandeza embarks on his retirement, he leaves behind not just a career filled with achievements but also a roadmap for those who will follow in his footsteps. While stepping away from the daily rigors of his role, he expressed excitement about exploring new passions and spending quality time with his family.

The program concluded as attendees raised a toast to Chief Ronie B. Gandeza. His legacy as a visionary leader, devoted public servant, and a Forester was solidly established in the hearts and minds of those he inspired as he said goodbye to his position.

His retirement marks the end of a journey which would be the start of another. With hope that his legacy would endure for years to come, Chief Gandeza's DENR family wishes him a happy and contented retirement.
