DENR CONDUCTS PRELIMINARY ORIENTATION ON THE CREATION OF WATERSHED MANAGEMENT COUNCILS
The DENR Palawan spearheaded the preliminary orientation on the creation of Watershed Management Councils for Aborlan and Malatgao Watersheds in Palawan, today, August 30, 2024 at Hue Hotel and Resorts.

The said activity is conducted in order to strengthen collaboration among DENR, other government agencies and stakeholders in the management of watersheds, to generate information associated with water resource development and supervision, and to orient members of the WMC and DENR personnel. This is in support of the full implementation of the DENR Administrative Order No. 2021-41 dated December 23, 2021, entitled “Guidelines in the Creation of Watershed Management Councils”.
The activity was participated by members of the Watershed Management Councils, PENRO Felizardo B. Cayatoc, CENRO Alexander E. Mancio, CENRO Renato S. Gonzaga, selected DENR Palawan personnel, PCSDS, and other NGAs/LGUs representatives from Narra and Aborlan.
The Aborlan and Malatgao Watersheds are included in the 12 identified critical watersheds under Cluster 4 River Basins in MIMAROPA Region.
