CELEBRATION OF STRENGTH, PROGRESS, AND VIBRANT SPIRIT OF WOMEN
The DENR-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Palawan supports and joins the entire nation on celebrating International Women’s Day today, March 8, 2024, with the sub-theme, “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!” that underscores the fair and rightful recognition of women’s capabilities, strengths, and progress in the society.

The International Women’s Day commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass at Immaculate Conception Parish Church, followed by a Women’s Parade from Rizal Park to Mendoza Park from 5:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
The official kick-off ceremony took place at the DENR - PENR Office’s lobby, filled with purple vibes as all personnel wore their purple shirts and actively participated in the program. Fun games, prepared and facilitated by the Gender and Development Focal Point System and Staff of PENRO Palawan, PENRO IEC Unit, and Administrative Section staff, added to the celebratory atmosphere.
Additionally, a Catholic mass was held at the DENR-PENRO Training hall, followed by a blessing of the office premises in the afternoon to invoke blessings and protection for all who work there and to foster a positive and harmonious environment for the employees of DENR-PENRO Palawan as they continue their valuable work in the community. The said office remains committed to recognizing and appreciating the differences that every woman makes, not just for themselves but also for society.
Here’s to all the incredible women who continuously shatter stereotypes, thrive in their unique ways, and strive to make a difference every day. Always remember that “You are loved, heard, and seen and you are undeniably admirable for being you!”
